A wedding bell tent village near Bridgwater
For Georgia's wedding in Bridgwater, Somerset, Camp Chic set up five of our 5m bell tents as a small wedding glamping village in a sunny hay field. The field had recently been cut, tedded, raked into windrows and baled, leaving round hay bales in the distance and a soft, grassy surface underfoot.
The mix of dry and wet weather in the lead-up meant the ground was still relatively soft and spongy, which helped with pegging the tents securely. The finished setup felt simple and rural, with warm canvas, open views and plenty of space between each tent.
Five tents with king-size beds and bedding
The guest accommodation included a mixture of king-size bed frames and king-size air beds, all accompanied by bed linen, mattress toppers and pillows. This gave Georgia's guests proper comfort while still keeping the relaxed feeling of staying in a bell tent beside the wedding.

It is the kind of detail that looks effortless once the tents are up, but it takes a little planning on site. The ground always has the final say, and the layout has to work with the usable space, slope, access and any rough patches in the field.
Careful setup before the wedding
Even a small and simple bell tent village needs careful setup. In one area of the field, we found sharp weed stems and rough growth that could have pressed up through the groundsheet, so we moved one tent slightly and cleared as much as we could by hand.
Those practical checks help protect the tents, prevent groundsheet damage and reduce the chance of leaks if the weather changes. By the time the tents were ready, Georgia and her friends had a neat, comfortable guest area that we were really proud of too.
