The best parties never quite fit into one evening. By the time the food's gone and the music's found its groove, nobody actually wants to call a taxi — and that's exactly the problem a glamping party solves. Instead of the night ending at midnight, a village of bell tents appears in the garden or paddock, and the party simply… continues. Breakfast together the next morning included.

Why glamping works for private parties

Whether it's a milestone birthday, an anniversary or a just-because summer gathering, guest accommodation is usually the hard part. Local B&Bs fill up, taxis home are expensive, and someone always ends up on a sofa. A bell tent village means everyone stays on site: couples get their own beautiful canvas hideaway, families fit comfortably in a 5-metre tent, and the hosts wake up surrounded by their favourite people rather than a pile of car keys.

Row of cream bell tents set up for a private party near Marlborough, Wiltshire

A real one: a Marlborough party weekend

In late August we set up nine Rustic Bell tents in a field at Mildenhall, near Marlborough in Wiltshire, for a private celebration — each with entrance rugs, perimeter lighting and solar lanterns, plus king-size airbeds and bedding so guests just had to turn up. The clients had been let down by another supplier at short notice; we had the whole village standing and styled before the first guests arrived.

August honesty: after a long dry summer the ground was baked hard, and tent pegs don't love that. It took us longer than usual — but that's our problem, not yours. We allow for conditions like these in our set-up schedule, and by the time anyone arrived the village looked like it had grown there.

What a party village costs

Our Rustic Bell tents — the party favourite — are £175 per tent for a two-night weekend, with lighting, rugs and matting included; guests bring their own bedding or we can add proper beds. Furnished tiers with real king-size beds run from £280, and everything is delivered, styled, and quietly taken away afterwards. No VAT on our tent prices, either. See all the interiors on our bookings page.

How late in the year can you party?

Later than you'd think. Canvas copes beautifully with late-summer and early-autumn weekends — some of our favourite jobs of the year happen in September, when the evenings are golden and the fields are quiet.
