A birthday party glamping setup in South Wales
This private event in Abergavenny, South Wales, was a birthday party with friends and family staying on site. Camp Chic provided three 5m bell tents, each fully kitted out inside so guests could settle in comfortably after the celebrations.
The setting was beautiful: a remote rural location surrounded by green hills, dressed with festoon lighting and a relaxed private-party feel. Abergavenny is a little further than our usual Somerset and South West routes, but for the right event we are happy to travel and make the setup work.
Custom interiors for families and couples
The guests included families, so the interiors were customised rather than simply copied from a standard package. Each tent was arranged with a king-size bed for the adults and single air beds for children, creating a practical family bell tent layout without losing the Camp Chic finish.

We also included thoughtful extras such as a welcome tray with mineral water, sweets and glasses, a small thank-you note, hot water bottles, books and low stools. The stools give guests somewhere to sit inside the tent without sitting on the beds, while still keeping headroom comfortable under the canvas.
Comfortable capacity without overcrowding
A 5m bell tent can feel generous when it is planned carefully. With a king-size bed and two single air beds, this was at the maximum comfortable capacity for the family layout, while still leaving room for guests to move around and for the interior to stay protected.
That balance matters. A tent should feel cosy, not cramped, and a good layout helps avoid people stepping over each other, damaging furniture or pushing bedding against the canvas. The result was a set of family-friendly guest tents that felt practical and special at the same time.
Access, planning and helpful hosts
The location was remote, with narrow lanes on the approach and access that needed care. Nick, the host, was really helpful in giving clear access information, and good communication meant the team arrived, unloaded and set up smoothly and efficiently.
