Stourhead Gardens
Classical temples, a lake and landscaped gardens on the Wiltshire–Somerset border.

A landscape full of atmosphere
Stourhead, at Stourton in Wiltshire, is known for its landscaped garden, lake and classical buildings. Winding paths reveal changing views across the water, with temples and mature trees making it a distinctive setting to explore when planning a wedding. The Temple of Apollo, pictured here, is one of its most recognisable landmarks.
Explore the setting with the venue team
If Stourhead is on your shortlist, speak to the venue team about the wedding arrangements available for your date. A garden visit can help you picture the surroundings, but ceremony locations, reception arrangements, guest access and photography plans need to be agreed specifically for your event. The garden and estate are not interchangeable spaces, so it is worth understanding exactly which areas your plans would include.
Field camping and a bell-tent village
Field camping can be arranged for weddings, subject to agreement with the venue. This offers a possibility for couples who would like guests to stay nearby in a furnished bell-tent village. The camping area would be in the agreed fields, not an assumption that tents can be pitched in the landscaped gardens or beside the temple.
Planning an overnight stay
Before confirming accommodation, agree the available field, permitted nights, guest numbers, vehicle access and toilet and shower arrangements. Share those details with us so we can discuss an appropriate tent layout and interiors. A field-based village and the wedding venue are booked separately; the final arrangements should work for both the venue and your guests. Stourhead is a venue Jess has highlighted for couples interested in this kind of celebration, rather than a formal Camp Chic partnership.
